Seattle Seahawks Got Their Wings Clipped, Now Sinking To the Bottom of the Sea

despite a two-game losing streak. They beat Denver on the road, 36-33, to take the lead in the weird NFC West division. The Seahawks lost their most important offensive player in their brutal loss to the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints in New Orleans. Mike Williams suffered a sprained foot and could not partake in the Week 12 battle with Kansas City. The Chiefs destroyed the Seahawks at Seattle, where the Seahawks generally play better ball. Jamaal Charles gashed the Seahawks defense for 173 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Dwayne Bowe lit up the Seattle secondary for 13 receptions for 170 yards and three touchdowns in unstoppable fashion. The Seahawks passing attack fared decently without their Comeback Player of the Year candidate, Mike Williams. Ben Obomanu caught five passes for 159 yards and a touchdown. Obomanu has caught three touchdown passes in the past four games. If the Seahawks want any shot at winning the division, they need Mike Williams to return. More importantly, however, they need to run the ball. When Seattle traded for former first-round pick Marshawn Lynch, it was believed that they would switch to a more ground-and-pound attack. While Lynch wears down the defense, Forsett would be able to come in late and shred the tired defense with his speed. game rushing 10 times for 22 yards. One would think the Seahawks were down and out of the game early, but the Chiefs won the game in the fourth quarter when they outscored the Seahawks 21-7. The Seahawks should actually take notes from the Chiefs, as they have a similarly constructed team.Both teams have good, game-managing quarterbacks in Matt Cassel and Matt Hasselbeck. They each have athletic tight ends in Tony Moeaki and John Carlson. Each has one big, strong, athletic wide receiver in Dwayne Bowe and Mike Williams.The problem is the Seahawks’ inability to run the football with the duo of Marshawn Lynch and Justin Forsett.Pete Carroll needs to force-feed these two quality runners the rock to open the passing game and keep the defense fresh. The Chiefs ran the ball 42 times with the duo of Thomas Jones and Jamaal Charles, which continues to work out very well for the Chiefs, who sit atop the AFC West.
